Welcome to Johns garden in north west England. The garden is about 40 metres long by 15 metres wide and has been terraced due to the considerable slope away from the house. Although our area is not famous for its fine weather the garden faces south and therefore obtains maximum benefit from the available sunshine. The garden has recently been converted to easy maintainence, perennial planting and alpine borders. The garden also contains a selection of "half hardy" perennials (phygelius, abutilon, pentstemon) and a large selection of hardy fuchsias.

Pictures I have taken on visits to some much grander gardens than mine. All of the gardens have extensive plant collections and I can recommend them to any keen, or not so keen, gardener. I have included links to the gardens on these pages.

I use Fastrack (Sierra) Landscape 2 software to assist in the design of the garden and to plan alterations. If you have this software and would like me to send you the file (This will enable you to "walk" through the garden and see some of the plants used) please E Mail me. If you would like to see a picture of the garden created using Landscape2 click here.
