Summer
The bottom of the garden in summer is dominated by the island bed which contains a selection of "cottage garden" perennial plants. The hollyhocks and lavatera (lower picture) give a colourful display from mid summer to early autumn. The borders by the curved path at the top of the garden (top left picture) are planted with hardy fuchsias and mulched with coco shell to keep down the weeds.
